ripples publishing is to be the home of the collection The end of all wars.

However, ripples publishing doesn’t exist. So far, it’s an idea, waiting to be picked up – by rebels, visionaries, shapers and lovers of stories.

Why them?

Because rethinking everything that might need a rethink is what I do – and business practices are no exception.

ripples publishing will set out to build an international network which empowers creatives, producers and customers, and which uses its profits to create global ripple effects and to strengthen communities.

This is my kind of rebellion: to create alternatives that don’t follow the old narratives which make us and our planet sick.

For me, this also means to protest exploitation, profiteering and the destruction of our habitat by not using the services offered by companies like Amazon, Google, Meta and the like. I have to use PayPal at the moment, but I’ll do a little dance when that won’t be necessary any more.

The decision to be as consistent as possible makes things pretty difficult for the publication of The end of all wars – for me and for the prospective reader.

But, it is also a chance. It is a chance to demonstrate that most of us might still use the platforms of tech titans, but we are not happy about the fact that they are screwing with us and with the planet.

If The end of all wars, the e-book, no less, could, for example, be sold outside of all of these platforms, with the help of readers, influencers, bloggers, activists, bookshops, papers and everyone else, then we could send a message.

Maybe someone now thinks: What? You want us to do this so you get all the money?

(Insert a chuckle)

If things go well, I get three euro for every sold book.

One euro will go to covering costs, some of which will presently also go to me for building this website, doing the flyer, and other admin tasks.

Three euro will go to the Charlie Alice Raya projects, but will be booked as To be repaid to the The end of all wars project.
The reasoning is simple: this project needs ripples publishing. And other business ideas could also contribute to a stable basis for the The end of all wars project such as the Hub (www.hub-international.org).
This means, income will first be used to build a foundation for a number of projects which can then support each other – always provided there are enough sales to make any moves possible.

That leaves five euros. These cover VAT (€0.85) and transaction fees (probably about €0.38).
The remainder either goes to a collaborating contributor, or, if the book is sold via this website, it goes into the overall project pot.

I measure business success by the amount of people who can benefit from an idea and by the amount of people who were able to unearth their potentials because of this or that business idea, and by the extend of recovery of the natural world this or that business can contribute.

In short: for all my business ideas, I measure success in terms of human empowerment and the planet’s recovery.
