Overlaps between the universe, the easy town story and vice versa
There is this thing about falling in love. When it happens, you tend to be so full of love that it seeps into every corner of your life – and your work.
As the Views from around the universe grew and grew on me, they first seeped into the dot.story (see dot-international.net) and eventually into book 3, shaping, see the exclusive extract.
But it is book 4/1, building, that will probably make the most of the universe, using planet one, the roots of war, planet 13, ending the war against ourselves, planet 7, change the story, shape the world, and planet 14, true power is in creation, in the team’s efforts to get the support they need to make their town project happen. And in these cases, it was a kind of ping-pong, for example: the universe contributed the roots of war, and book 4/1 inspired True power is in creation.
Now, the easy town books are all about a team who first plan and later run a town experiment to find out what kind of environment is ideal for the human or in other words: what does it take for the human to thrive.
That this story would find use for the universe stories is little surprising. What did surprise me was that some of my work for the easy town stories found its way into planet one, the roots of war – in particular thoughts about the connections between nature and humans, and the creation of communities – which, once you think about it, isn’t all that surprising because if you have healthy communities, wars don’t have a chance – and humans thrive.
